Strong Foundation for Safe Surgeries: Klinik Sanssouci Invests in Advanced Training
By supporting the successful continuing education of a team member in our Central Sterile Supply Department, we’re actively strengthening quality, responsibility, and team development.
Almost invisible – yet absolutely essential: the sterile supply unit plays a crucial role in ensuring safe surgical procedures. While most people associate a successful surgery with the team in the OR, it wouldn’t be possible without precision work behind the scenes.
In the AEMP (German: Aufbereitungseinheit für Medizinprodukte – Central Sterile Supply Department), surgical instruments are cleaned, disinfected, packaged, and sterilized every day. This department at Klinik Sanssouci makes an often overlooked but vital contribution to our standard of medical excellence.
Christin Haubold has been part of our team since February and was immediately fascinated by the processes behind the scenes of the OR.
During her probationary period, Klinik Sanssouci invested in her training for the “Fachkunde I” certificate – the official qualification for working in instrument reprocessing. She successfully completed the course within six weeks. This is not only a significant step in her professional development but also a key investment in quality assurance in our sterile supply department.
The versatility of her role and the demand for precision motivate her every day:
“I want to ensure that every instrument is perfectly prepared – I imagine it’s my own family member on that operating table.”
