Dr. Kai Junghans assumes the position of Medical Director at Klinik Sanssouci effective July 1, 2026

Effective July 1, 2026, Dr. Kai Junghans will assume the role of Medical Director at Klinik Sanssouci. The experienced specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery will play a key role in further shaping the clinic’s focus on joint replacement surgery in the future.

Klinik Sanssouci has continued to evolve in recent years, increasingly focusing on orthopedics. Today, roughly one in every two surgeries performed at Klinik Sanssouci involves a joint.

Against this backdrop, the medical leadership of Klinik Sanssouci will be specifically strengthened from the field of orthopedics effective July 1, 2026: Dr. Kai Junghans will assume the role of Medical Director of the clinic. He will further develop the clinic’s medical profile – with a clear focus on the further expansion of orthopedics in general and joint replacement surgery in particular.

Dr. Junghans has been employed at the clinic as a surgical specialist for several years. He brings with him many years of experience from his work in private practice and will bring his full surgical expertise to Klinik Sanssouci. His clinical focus is on hip and knee joint replacement surgery. In addition, he offers orthopedic consultations both at Klinik Sanssouci and at the ATOS MVZ meviva Berlin.

Wilfried Sießbüttel will remain Deputy Medical Director but will once again devote himself fully to the field of anesthesiology. In his role as Chief of the Department of Anesthesiology, he will continue to focus on modern pain management tailored to patients’ needs. He leads a team that has now grown to seven specialists.

With this structural development and the expansion of its medical leadership structure, Klinik Sanssouci is specifically strengthening its orthopedic expertise while also fostering reliable collaboration across departments.
